Cave - acrylic, color pencil, oil on canvas, 24" x 30"

"Behold ! human beings living in a underground den, which has a mouth open towards the light and reaching all along the den; here they have been from their childhood, and have their legs and necks chained so that they cannot move, and can only see before them, being prevented by the chains from turning round their heads. Above and behind them a fire is blazing at a distance, and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised way; and you will see, if you look, a low wall built along the way, like the screen which marionette players have in front of them, over which they show the puppets."

Plato: The Republic, book VII

A lot of new work will see completion in this new year.
This recently finished painting is concluding on the concepts of the Divided Line series, while also moving on technically and aesthetically.

Recently was invited to show my work at Muchmore's
Muchmore’s is a music venue, bar and coffee house located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We host events each night, and don’t limit ourselves to music, but also host stand-up comedy, debates, festivals, open mics, film forums, theater, visual art, lectures, performance art, poetry, improv, you name it. We pride ourselves on providing a home for events that might be too avant garde or out of the mainstream to find a home at other venues, and for fostering a creative community around the space that doesn’t really exist at other venues.

Will be exhibiting the Divided Line series
No official reception, but drop by for a drink tonight (Thursday, dec 5th) if you're in the area (2 Havemeyer, Williamsburg).

Along with Divided Line updated the website with the rest of the work from 2013:
as well as Intuition and Hypothesis

Hosting the model drawing sessions still and every week at this venue:
Saturdays 2:30 - 5 pm @ 2 Havemeyer st, in Williamsburg

Below are sketches of 2, 5, 10, 20 minute poses, some later overpainted and/or drawn over:
